  • Platycodon ‘Sentimental Blue

    Sentimental Blue Balloon Flower is a dwarf cultivar that does not require staking. The blue flowers start out in the shape of a balloon when they are in bud, but open to a star shape. It also attracts pollinators.

  • Shagbark Hickory is a native shade tree. As the tree ages, bark changes from smooth to exfoliating, large shaggy strips which gives it the name Shagbark Hickory. The leaves are large and pinnately compound with a yellow-brown fall color. The trees produces edible nuts that appear in the fall.     Shantung Maple is a small and rounded understory maple ornamental tree. It has green leaves with five triangular lobes that emerge a reddish-purple in the spring and turn darker green in the summer. It has yellow and orange fall color.

  • Viburnum ‘Shasta’

    Shasta Doublefile Viburnum is a deciduous shrub. It is a good flowering shrub for full sun or part shade. Fragrant white snowball-like flower clusters bloom in the spring. Fall color can be an attractive burgundy.

  • Panicum ‘Shenandoah’

    Shenandoah Switch Grass is native ornamental grass. It grows in narrow, compact clumps. The foliage appears blue-green in the spring then changes to feature red tones in early summer and then turns shades of violet, purple, burgundy, and deep red by the early fall. In the summer, finely-textured pink flowers float above the foliage. The grass remains attractive though winter with beige tones.

    Siberian Bugloss is a shade perennial with green, heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are very small, blue clusters that bloom in the spring.

  • Hydrangea ‘Sikes Dwarf’

    Sikes Dwarf Hydrangea is a dwarf cultivar of Oakleaf Hydrangea. The leaves have and oak leaf-like appearance with deep, pointed lobes. In early summer, white panicle flowers appear that fade to pink. The flowers on this cultivar are smaller than the straight species. In the fall the leaves turn shades of orange, red and purple.
