    Native. Flowers on the male plant are larger than those on the female plant. Flowers are very small and yellow, blooming in the early spring. Red fruit is covered by foliage until the leaves turn yellow in the fall and fall off. Leaves are fragrant when crushed.

    Sunburst St. John’s Wort is a deciduous shrub. It is a compact and dense flowering shrub. The leaves are small and blueish green in color. The flowers are bright yellow with a large amount of stamens fanned out in the center. The flowers blooms sporadically so they can be seen at the same time as the bright red fruit capsules.
